Yamaha1:12 Miniature Diecast Bike
/ The Brief
Scale models that collectors keep.
Yamaha needed a premium merchandise line that goes beyond apparel and accessories. The brief: produce 1:12 scale diecast miniature bikes of their most popular Malaysian models — the Y15ZR, Y125, and Y16ZR — with enough detail and build quality to hold value on the collector’s secondary market.
Every moving part had to mirror the real bike. Every decal had to be placement-accurate. The packaging had to feel premium enough for a display case, not a bargain bin.
How we built it
Sourced a specialist diecast factory with motorcycle-scale model experience. Managed tooling for three bike models simultaneously — each with unique fairings, exhaust routing, and decal placement.
Ran QC checks on movable parts (kickstand, handlebars, wheels) across sample batches. Coordinated Yamaha brand approval on paint colour matching and logo placement. Delivered retail-ready boxed units to the Malaysian market.
